Glenafton V Kilsyth Rangers 5th round  Scottish cup, 27th of January 1957 at Connelpark. The score on the day was 2-2 and unfortunately the Glens lost 1-3 in the replay on the 10th February.

I have highlighted Bert Jackson's name in this picture as sadly Bert died on the 18th of October 2002 in Ayr Hospital, aged 68. He was married to Bina for 45 years and had a son Andrew and daughters Janice and Karen. Bert was born in Connelpark and worked in the pits for many years, including the old Bridgend Pit in 1957-63 and the Killoch till 1985.
He lived in Castle Place, New Cumnock, across from Loch Park, where he spend many a Saturday watching his beloved Glens.
